Dixie’s Story:

Dixie spent the first year of her life in a Romanian shelter, unable to travel due to the pandemic. She finally made it to the UK hoping for her forever home. Sadly, a change in family circumstances now means she’s once again searching for a family to call her own. 💔

Despite her rocky start, Dixie is a loving, playful girl who forms strong bonds with her people. She currently lives with another dog and accepts new dogs out on walks, but she prefers calm introductions. She’s also lived peacefully with a baby but finds the noise and unpredictability of children stressful — she’ll do best in a quiet, adult-only home.

Dixie is a sensitive soul. She currently lives in a very built-up area and struggles to fully relax due to all the outside noise. She’s a great communicator — her moods and worries are easy to spot, and she just needs someone patient and gentle to respond to her cues.

She’s already had a professional behavioural assessment and showed that, with calm handling and positive reinforcement, she opens up quickly. Dixie is food-motivated, affectionate, and just waiting for someone to make her feel safe again. ❤️
